Kroger razes former Halls store
A former Kroger store on Maynardville Pike was being demolished this week, but the future of the site isn’t clear.
“Due to the building’s age and limited redevelopment value, we felt it best to raze the building,” Glynn Jenkins, a Kroger spokesman, said in an email. “At this time our plans are to retain the property, while we re-evaluate the market over the next year.”
The property is located at 6939 Maynardville Pike, and it’s not the first sign of activity in North Knox County by the Cincinnati-based grocery chain.
