The office equipment-maker, Brother International, published the results of its annual Brother Small Business Survey, and the results indicate small business owners feel more confident about the economy compared to the previous year.

When asked whether or not small business owners preferred to invest or stockpile cash, 51-percent of respondents preferred to stockpile cash, versus 47-percent who responded they would rather invest capital towards gaining a competitive advantage over competitors.

It also seems that more small business owners are more stressed everyday largely because of the current economic climate. 17-percent of respondents said their stress level is at its highest ever, with 35-percent saying their stress level is higher than usual, with 36-percent reporting about the same levels of stress. The chief executive officer, Bob Parsons, of the popular Internet services company, GoDaddy Inc., is being heavily criticized today after a video showing him killing an elephant in Zimbabwe made the rounds on the Internet starting early this morning.

In the video embedded below, Mr. Parsons slayed the elephant by firing two shots with a rifle, causing a herd of other elephants to scatter amid the night commotion.

Parsons published the video of his trip on his blog, saying “Each year I go to Zimbabwe and hunt problem elephant. Its one of the most beneficial and rewarding things I do.”

GoDaddy competitors are taking advantage of the event, with some firms even agreeing to donate a portion of sales to animal cruelty charities from sales generated from existing GoDaddy customers that migrate their business.

The elephant was killed as farmers claimed the animals were responsible for destroying valuable crops.

In a move not seen very often, NASDAQ OMX Group, the company that owns and operates the Nasdaq stock index announced today the company would re-organize the weightings of certain securities in a bid to lower volatility.

Technology stocks that are traditionally more volatile will be adjusted to new lower weightings, and other stocks that are less volatile will now represent larger weightings.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) previously represented 20.49-percent of the total value of the Nasdaq-100 index, and now that weighting will be lowered by almost 40-percent down to only 12.33-percent of the index value.

The Apple stock specifically has been trading on a very volatile basis, constantly closing and opening with high variations from the previous trading day over the last couple of months.

Less volatile stocks like the Microsoft stock (NASDAQ:MSFT) will now be weighted more. The
